EVDaytona Electric Motorcycle

Based on a Triumph Daytona chassis, the evDaytona electric motorcycle gives you great performance and variable range, depending on how many batteries you choose, … or can afford. Their goal is a 100 mile range at 70 mph, which currently takes 220 pounds of batteries, which drops performance a bit. Opting for 30 pounds of batteries gives you 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds but only a 15 miles of range. Your choice then is a spare (expensive) pack of batteries at your destination if it’s a normal commute, or a charger. An expensive charger gives you a 10 minute charge time, a standard charger does the job in a few hours.
The batteries are the lithium ion polymer type that seems to be the popular choice for EV builders these days, … popular, but still really expensive.
As far as appearance, it looks fairly normal except for the huge windshield to improve aerodynamics to stretch the range as far as possible, better batteries might tone that down a bit.
They don’t yet have DOT approval so even if you come up with the, … $77,000!! for the full battery pack option, you still can’t go anywhere. I think the Lightning Lithium was a better setup, they seemed to have better range and price than this one.

For $77,000.00 I would expect range to be at least 500 KM at 150 KM/H.

Pretty cool idea. Way out of my price range, but I’m glad someone is taking up the challenge.

the downsides are obvious (like the flappy huge wind screen) but there is now one more electric bike available. Maybe we’ll eventually see something as economical and capable as the ninja 250 in an electric bike at a competitive price.
They probably recooped all their component costs when they hawked the original motor on ebay…

I think electric bikes have long way to go, the whole point in bike is being able to ride around all day, this would be hard if you always run out of juice.

Kudos for getting out there and doing something but $77k is uber steep for a 675 and some lipos.
You could build this yourself for a whole lot less and like Todd said, you could sell the motor and recoup a large portion of the conversion price

wait - what I meant to say was - if you’re going to uglify a bike for a more efficent ride, shouldn’t you learn something about aerodynamics first? stretch out the tail and ignore the windshield.

It looks like an alien motorcycle . Someday when the technology allows it will happen . I think it would be pretty cool to ride a silent sportbike . Like flying a glider . The loud pipes save lives crowd might object .
