Triumph Street Speed 675?

There have been a lot of rumors about the Triumph 675 going naked and this image, which is supposed to be pretty accurate, shows the Triumph Street Speed, a Daytona 675 in Speed Triple form. Judging from the positive response the Daytona 675 has received, the Street Speed should likewise do very well. Reports also say it is coming in July. More details as they become available.

I loved my speed triple, but it always seemed a bit on the husky side. Something lighter/more compact would fit the bill nicely. Naked bikes are the way to go.

That bike looks tiny, with sparse accomodations, completely impractical… and mind-blowingly, dementedly, insanely fun to ride! I sure hope it’s the real thing!

I saw a hot rod Speed Triple in Performance Bike mag. It had a better rear section than the stubby stock one & a single headlight. I used to love the bug-eyed look, but is it time for the single again?

yeah, i saw the Triple in Performance Bike too. i was kinda hoping they would make a 675 version of it. the one in PB looked a lot cleaner though. more athletic, less “sportbike minus fairing” this looks pretty damn good though. . .

Cool bike. Much more comfortable riding position for tall riders. Someday, some motorcycle company will design a naked bike for riders over 6′3″. A real world windshield and some bags and it’d make a great sport touring bike.

It’s a shrunken Speed III! We already have a Speed III! I agree with the above comment please, go single and round on the friggin’ headlight! It just looks cleaner and it’s lighter/cheaper to boot. Make up the weight with some tasty ANALOG guages!!! LCDs, track timers, and all the other non-sense are just so overused and not at all clean, tidy or useful. Try reading that LCD in direct sunlight. It doesn’t matter how you place it, eventually it’ll be in direct sunlight… And while we’re at it, GET THE EXHAUST OUT OF THE WAY OF OUR BAGS!!! PLEASE! If you can only spring for one new bike and you don’t live in the mountains you are going to travel there, aren’t you? Pipes and a tail section like the Speed IIIs means only three things: 1) no touring 2) no passenger (I like to get laid on vacation and it’s always a better bet if you bring someone with you now isn’t it?) 3) no new Triumph in the garage!!! Get it together…

Just been to a major Triumph dealer with my wife. She is a bit short and wants another bike other than a 400 so we had a go on the Bonny. Liked it and seriously thought about getting one until the sales guy suggested that we hang on for the 675 Speed Triple. He had heard through the grapevine that it’s going to be suitable for shorties and women as Triumph see this area as a potential growth. Makes sense as it’s nigh on impossible to get a new large capacity bike for a 5′2″ woman. He didn’t have to tell me this as my wallet was almost out so I think he was genuine. Also said it would be around 5.5K which is fairly cheap.

I’m in total agreement with Dan, do it right, not just a stripped Daytona or a shrunken Speed III, give it some personality all it’s own. This is the only bike keeping me from a Ducati Monster, so you can tell what my tastes run toward…
