1933 Morgan 3 wheeler

3 wheelers keep coming up on The Kneeslider and I see there's a 1933 Morgan for sale on eBay. It's powered by a JAP V-twin and just looks really cool. There are a few companies making some great modern recreations of the originals, like the Ace Cycle Car for instance, but you have to admit, the old Morgans had one neat look about them. The out front engine placement just begs for any number of current V-twins to take the spot and a number have been tried from Moto Guzzi to Honda CXs to Harley Davidsons and probably a few more. The old JAPs did a nice job, though.

This looks like a job for Triumph’s Rocket III.

Nah, it looks better with a big pushrod V twin sticking out the front. Maybe the triple if it was mounted longitudinally like the twin in the trike above. Either way, those old trikes are gorgeous.

I think I remember a documentary about British cars in which they said three wheelers were built to beat the vehicle tax system. When the law was changed, the market for three wheelers dried up.

It’s my impression that most of the vehicles sold in Britain are designed to beat the tax system in one way or another. I guess that’s what happens when vehicle taxes get punitive and specific.
