Cafe9 custom by Robert Steffano

Acme Rocket Bike lead designer Robert Steffano is introducing the Ducati 999 powered Cafe9, a limited production custom. The Cafe9, like the other Acme Rocket Bike designs, is unique yet not overdone.

Specifications as provided by Steffano Motors:

  • Weight: 375 Lbs.
  • Power: 140HP - 150HP
  • Torque : 80 ft-lbs
  • Aerospace quality carbon fiber bodywork
  • Exotic and practical sting ray hide luxury saddle
  • Integrated police radar detection system
  • Innovative integral silencer tail-section featuring dual side exhaust ports as never seen on a motorcycle before
  • 20-spoke forged alloy wheels
  • Fully adjustable control levers, footrests and handlebars
  • The handbuilt Cafe9 will be available beginning May 1st, 2007 in various trim and performance levels. Upgrades are also available. Price? About $75,000.

Have you noticed how many of the custom shops are starting to go low production instead of one off customs? It just makes sense. The first bike is where you get the design to work, everything fits, performance is tweaked, why not use that hard won knowledge to build a few more, maybe quite a few more?

Does that hot chick have one really big boot?

75.000$!?? Find a used or slightly damaged 999 instead. Take off the fairing, install a radar + a few things more and save approx. 60.000$…

    Cheers

That’s the sexiest looking bike I’ve ever seen on the Kneeslider, wink wink.

Imagine how many cool concepts will eclipse this design once “the kneeslider design competition” gets under way…. ;)

Choosing to go past the obvious “Dude it’s a hawk chik”, I like the bike. Very cool. Very space age. A modern cafe to be sure. But the price is WAY too steep. We don’t need a carbon fibre shrouded rocketship, especially when the carbon fibre is being made into such a small and lightweight part that the weight loss would be insignificant. Not quite the pointlessness of a carbon fibre indicator set, but still pretty silly. Alright, rant over, I want one.

    Honestly, I prefer a Ducati.
(maybe if they get rid of that Alien-head-shaped windscreen)

hey, wait, didn’t Ducati just release something like this? i think they called it the Monster S4RS. yeah, i think that’s it. sure, they don’t give you the uber cool windscreen, but i’m sure it’s just as fast, definitely as pretty, and oh, $60,000 cheaper. and there’s that whole warranty thingy. okay, seriously, this is a gorgeous bike, but come on, you can do way better for much less money. and isn’t that the whole point? fun per $$$?

Lovely bike, and the balance of colors really makes it. Pretty expensive though.

I love “cafe racers”, but this thing is plain ugly… If I had that kind of scratch, i’d invest in an a couple of ARC Ducati’s…
