Ransom Bikes - More Sport Choppers

15 January 2007

We wrote about Wayne Ransom last March when he built Revelation, a Honda CBR929RR powered custom motorcycle that took the chopper idea and tossed the V-twin in favor of a sportbike sourced inline four. Wayne hasn’t been sitting still since he’s built a couple more bikes, one with Suzuki GSX-R1000 power and one with a [...]

Indian Autorickshaw Challenge

15 January 2007

For some, the challenge is a race like the Baja 1000 or perhaps the Paris Dakar Rally, but to the truly adventurous, there is the Indian Autorickshaw Challenge, this year with a route covering 1191 miles in 13 days, it literally defines extreme sport. Should you decide to take part, you’ll be driving a race [...]

John Britten Documentary Film

15 January 2007

There’s a documentary film available about John Britten produced by Ruffels Documentaries of New Zealand. It’s titled “One Man’s Dream.” I have not seen this but John Britten is one of the more fascinating fellows in the motorcycle world, having produced a superbike, pretty much on his own. It had a unique design and surprised [...]

Twindian - Twin Engine Indian Motorcycle

15 January 2007

One of the comments on yesterday’s post about the V4 custom mentioned the Twindian, a twin engine 1916 Indian. One look at this and I agree, it’s far better looking and shows the kind of cool work they were doing a long time ago.
According to the story on the site, the Twindian was built sometime [...]

This twin V-Twin, twin turbo custom motorcycle debuted at Biketoberfest last fall and took Best in Class at the Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show. It was built by A1 Cycles of Wellington, Florida and is called “All In.” The bike runs a 360 rear tire and a 310 front, not exactly a sportbike, but it’s [...]

Confederate Motor Company has introduced a Certified Previously Owned Motorcycles program. According to the company, motorcycles traded in at Confederate are carefully examined by the factory technicians and after getting the seal of approval are offered for sale with a limited 90 day warranty. Although numerous high end auto companies have programs like this, it’s [...]

Aprilia Magnet Tilting 3 Wheeler

12 January 2007

With all of the recent interest in the Piaggio MP3 and other tilting three wheelers, I thought I would revisit the Aprilia Magnet, a design project from a couple of years ago that never went beyond the concept stage but, to me, looks better than many of the more recent attempts to create a vehicle [...]

Honda Forza Smart 2-seater Concept Scooter

12 January 2007

Honda is introducing a few new concept vehicles at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2007 this weekend, among them is this Forza Smart scooter which looks rather nice. If scooters keep improving and looking like this, they could win over a lot more riders.
Honda press release follows:
TOKYO, Japan, January 10, 2007– Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced [...]
