2007 Campagna T-Rex 1400
January 8th, 2007 at 10:28 am by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider"The Campagna T-Rex has been getting a lot more press recently and now that they’ve dropped a 187 hp Kawasaki 1400cc engine in it, I can see why. The T-Rex is a three wheeler built in Quebec, Canada and they’ve gone through a few variations in the engine department, they even had a Harley Davidson V-twin in there some years back. The 1400 gives the T-Rex pretty crazy performance, top speeds close to 160 mph, 0-60 under 4 seconds, pulls close to 2 gs in the corners and if you check out the video you have to admit it looks like a helluva lot of fun.
Six speed gearbox with reverse, seating for two, you remove the steering wheel for entry and exit just like a race car, full tube frame / roll cage and you can get hard luggage like you’ll find on many motorcycles to carry your stuff. 16 inch wheels up front, 17 inch in the back.
Price is in the $50,000 range so it’s not cheap but, like I said, it does look like fun.

wild. A race series of these trikes could combine road racing with drifting.

Living and riding in Vermont, I see T-Rexes on the road several times a summer. Plenty of Quebecois head south to enjoy our twisty roads, since it’s pretty flat north of the border. T-Rexes look like they’d be an absolute blast to drive; shame they’re so expensive.

I would happily trade forty or fifty of those 187 horses for a lower price point.

The T-Rex is a great vehicle, but it can’t do 2gs on the skid pad. All other similarly set up vehicles post substantially lower numbers, at best about 1.3g. See the GX3 stats. If you look at the T-Rex website, it used to say 1.9gs, now it just says “over 1g.” They must have been using those Canadian gs in their calculations and someone called them on it.
Also, the test driver in the video said it had about the same grip as a regular car. When going from a SUV at .7gs to a sports car at 1g, I think a test driver would feel the difference when going from 1 to 2gs.

I still don’t know why they’re so expensive, it look like a go kart it has Kawasaki 1400cc engine, all I see is $3,500 for engine and the body look like maybe $10,000 it just the name! not the ride. It look cool and fun, why paid for the name! too much $20,000 will do.

i would love to have one, but if i am going to spend $50,000 on a vehicle, a t-rex is at the bottom of the list. with todays gas prices, they could sell these things at a crazy pace if the price was reasonable. too bad these things arent priced like a Cam Am Spyder. both bikes are very similar, and a spyder can be bought for around 15K. too bad the spyders are so darn ugly.

The T-Rex is a toy just like a regular motorcyle you can get the same thrill from a Zx-10 and be able split lanes dip a bike left and right at high speeds around curves and go anywhere a car can go for a fraction of the price a T-rex can only go where there are leveled streets and the majority of people live in areas where there are pot holes and if you hit the right one at the right speed shocks struts what ever this thing uses are gone and I’m sure very costly to fix cause there arent many mechanics around that know how to fix them and $50,000 for a motorcyle engine and can only go in certain areas nah dont think so I’m sure my Zx-10 factory can put this thing to the test with ease
