This one is nice, really nice. JvB Moto, operating out of Cologne, Germany, won the Ducati Design contest in 2004 with his creation called Flat Red. All wiring is hidden for a clean look and he relocated the battery, electrics and the oil cooler to free up space for a redesigned fuel tank and airbox.
Overall, this is one good looking Ducati. My only small quibble would be the seat which might need a slight lip on the back to keep you planted a bit more securely, but other than that, this is great.
He also has a Suzuki XF 650cc single cylinder custom utilizing a Kawasaki GPX 600 chassis. It is an earlier work and some of the design elements have carried over into the Ducati.
Very nice work showing a little different direction from the standard Ducati powered sportbikes.

this is killer.
Left-hand corners look like they would scrape too soon.

Nice! Clean look, although I agree on the seat. Hard to tell from the picture, but the seat might be too low for those rear sets. Mid set pegs might be more comfortable for such a low flat seat. A see a hint of the Sachs Beast, which is certainly not a bad thing.

the photos on their site don’t depict the oil cooler would scrape as much as the above photo
There aren’t many bikes that sound as good as an air cooled ducati with megaphones. The straight-back look is a welcome design instead of the undertail

ha! silly me!…. I remember when this was featured in the ducati design contest. the ducati website is pretty crappy for pictures if the feature is not on a new product of theirs, so it was hard to see the details on this bike. for some reason, until this post, I thought the winner was a mock-up and not a real bike. looking at the provided picture, I was convinced that someone had mutilated and jammed together parts from several plastic ducati models to demonstrate their vision….
I’m glad to see it’s a rideable machine, and that it is longer than 12 inches…

Actually Aaron, what you saw was a mock-up. He first made a mock-up for the Ducati design contest and after he won decided to built it. Seems making it in scale is a good way to see if it can work;-)

at the time, I thought it was a great idea for mix ‘n matches, as the models are usually quite accurate and detailed. cheaper to hack apart, too….
