Another SE Asian country looking to ramp up motorcycle exports is Vietnam. We've written about the Vietnamese scooter rebuilding companies trying to make a name for themselves with varying degrees of success, but Vietnam is moving into building and exporting brand new motorcycles, too. It's not a big industry yet, but you can be sure it will be. They're aiming at $300 million worth of exports by 2010 with steady increases afterwards.
The tip for this information came from the newest site in our network, Export Logistics Guide, a great place to keep up with the latest exporting news and how-to export information. The writer (who just happens to be my wife) knows the exporting business. She has a lot of experience moving big and heavy cargo, the kind that doesn't fit in a FedEx box, REALLY big stuff, like cargo that might require an Antonov AN-225 cargo plane and even things that won't fit into one of those, like large numbers of railroad locomotives and she ships to every continent, well not to Antarctica, ... yet. So if you want to get the word from a real export expert, if you need to know about letters of credit, export packing requirements, the Ex-Im Bank or anything else pertaining to global exports, check out her site.
