2007 Kawasaki Z1000 Introduced

Kawasaki has introduced the Z1000 for 2007. This big bore naked bike seems like it should have fairly high end road ability with a torque curve focused on the lower end of the rev spectrum.

JCB Dieselmax World Land Speed Record 328 mph

UPDATE: They just raised it again. They broke their own 1 day old record and set a new mark at 350.092mph! Wow!

Ducati Leaves AMA Superbike

Ducati will end its factory support of AMA Superbike at the end of this season.

JCB Dieselmax goes 317mph at Bonneville

In another example of diesel engines moving into the performance arena, the JCB Dieselmax streamliner made two runs at Bonneville, 308mph last Thursday and 325mph on Friday for a two run average of 317mph making it the fastest diesel ever to run at Bonneville. Got a note the other day with a question about an engine, possibly for use in a motorcycle. The engine was this 1300cc 2 rotor rotary engine made by Rotamax. After looking at the specs it seemed like an interesting option.
Engine size is pretty reasonable, 22.7″-L x 17.4″-W x 17.9″-H, and it weighs 153 pounds. [...]
