The Kneeslider - Back from Tony Foale Seminar

August 2nd, 2006 at 7:18 am by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider"

I just returned from the Tony Foale seminar in Ohio with quite a bit to tell you. If you want to learn one helluva lot about motorcycle dynamics and motorcycle suspension, Tony’s seminars are a quick way to upgrade your knowledge. I’ll be sorting everything out and posting a little later.

Also had an up close look at Rob Kasten’s reverse rotating rotors while I was there. Actually seeing rotors rotate backwards is interesting. I’ll talk about those, too.

One more thing, just before I left the other day I noticed Thorsten Durbahn stopped by to leave a comment on a post from a few months ago. If you haven’t seen his work, take a few minutes to check it out at his web site. Highly modified Ducati, Honda and now a Suzuki and very high caliber work. He was commenting here.

Tony Foale is an amazing guy; I met him 4 years ago and was very impressed. There is nothing regarding motorcycles he hasn’t built (from his own wheels (magnesium I think) till new front suspensions, etc.)
I was lucky enought that he helped me with my graduation project (where he did computer simulations for a motorcycle concept) and his knowledge is incredible. I heard his seminars are excellent and his book is a must read if you want to know more about motorcycles (not easy though)
