Yamaha Scooter Airbag
May 26th, 2006 by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider"
First we had the Honda Gold Wing airbag, a motorcycle industry first, and now Yamaha has developed an airbag system for their ASV-3 research vehicle, a scooter based on the Maxam 250. (ASV - Advanced Safety Vehicle)
There is no mention of this feature being introduced in a production Yamaha of any sort, but if the demonstration vehicle is functional and Honda already has an airbag on the market, it’s easy to assume Yamaha has thoughts of installing this feature in one of their vehicles as well.

Is it just me, or does anyone else not want that thing exploding between their legs…

If a steering wheel airbag can blacken both eyes, I don’t want to know what a seat-mounted one will put a shiner on.
At least it doesn’t look like a fat lady bending over (we’re looking at you, Honda GoldWing).
