Usually to make a vehicle fun at a high speed it must be -not- fun at low speed. Bikes have helped counter that problem for some time but now it is starting to show up there too. A Hyabusa may be fun at 186 mph but sucks around town, the 99% of its use. An Aprilia or Derbi 50 will be as much fun up to and at 60 as the HYA is at 186. This doesn't seem to matter until you realize that a person spends 99% of his time in the 50cc fun zone and the bike only cost a third of the other. Go figure.

I never understood these kinds of comparisons. What are they suppose to "prove"? That cars are better than motorcycles? That if you had enough road (that's a big if) you could go faster than a motorcycle (although not safely)?

I would guess that it ultimately comes down to how much fun you have in your vehicle. On that note, there's a unique feel that you get (well, me anyways) from doing things like turning that you don't get from a car.
