I too live in an apartment, but here's how I keep my baby snug: I put a disc lock on the back wheel, and lock the front wheel to an iron support beam with a HEAVY motorcycle lock. The makers claim it's basically cut proof even with a welding torch. It's not fool-proof, but nothing really is. Yeah, it takes a few minutes every morning and night, but it's worth it.
