Well, now its allready out on the market. Sadly unuff.

I would like it to be like this:

V8 4000cc injected 300 hp
Shaftdrive
Steelframe and looks of the old Max, but with the engine as stressed member.
Beefier forks and above all, some effert put in the the suspension up front.
Airdampers in the rear that can be fixed as ridgid for dragrace or at the traffic lights.

Launch-control with antispin and airshift that kicks in next gear at the right rpm.

I will take a pass on the new V-Max.
I have the 1998 V-Max and alot of what is being mentioned on here can be done to all the current V-Max bikes out there. The fake intakes can be made real, the engine can be bored out the seat height can be lowered, better front end can be installed, super charge and turbo charge kits are out there. Chain coversion kits that are easier to install as well as kits for a wider rear tire are all out there. So rather then shell out such a large amount for the new V-Max, I will keep my 98 V-Max and keep up-grading it. The new conversion kits out on the market for older V-max bikes are very well made now and very easy to install compared to earlier versions. My V-Max eats other bikes for lunch and I have no trouble hunting down bikes and passing other them on the mountain roads. The fake tank on the V-Max can also be replaced with an actual tank that looks the same as the fake tank.

i own an '01 vmax. i agree with michaels' comments above. it's a fun bike. but it 's like driving an nhra funny car! i pass everything but the gas pump! having seen the '09 vmax i am disappointed in the overall design--the weight, the styling. omg--it's so fugly. oh why couldn't yamaha have studied the ktm 990 super duke-that's a beautiful well mannered standard! not to tall, very flicable in/out of the twisties, good brakes, & not top heavy. the ktm is what a standard should be in this day an age. now if yamaha had put the vmax motor in the ktm super duke, omg, omg. they would have trouble meeting the demand from the public. as it is, i will take a pass on the '09 vmax.

I agree with alot of the previous comments on more horse power and better handling in cornering,
and the need for a passanger seat but I would also like to see the bike made bigger, able to fit a 200-240lb and up to 6'3 ht. rider.
