27 May 2005

AMA Prostar drag racing has a Hot Rod Cruiser class based on the high performance V-twin cruisers. This is a street legal class where all of the big V-twins from Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, etc. face off. After the initial year, five years ago, Yamaha has since run away with the class using Patrick Racing’s help [...]

CEM - Cylindrical Energy Module

27 May 2005

Yesterday I noticed another article about the apparent upcoming Duesenberg Torpedo Coupe, where once again, a famous old name is used to give a brand new concept car the aura of a classic. That’s another subject altogether. However, there were two things I didn’t notice before. One, is the company is also designing a motorcycle [...]

From the AMA press release:

Hellcat’s for the stars

25 May 2005

Waiting to get my haircut yesterday, I was leafing through People magazine (no bike magazines available) and I came across a picture of Brad Pitt riding down the street on his F113 Hellcat. Then I’m looking a little further and there is Tom Cruise getting on his motorcycle, an F113 Hellcat. I think Confederate Motorcycles [...]

Harley Davidson sues Ridley

24 May 2005

Looks like when the motorcycle business slows down you put the lawyers to work. Word is just coming in that Harley Davidson is suing Ridley Motorcycles of Oklahoma City over their use of the word “glide” in the names of some of their motorcycles. If the case is successful, will GM then sue Harley for [...]

More motorcycle powered cars

24 May 2005

Several times I’ve mentioned the shops building cars powered by motorcycle engines because the engines are just so powerful and their size so compact. I dropped by Z Cars and now I notice their Tiger Z100WR that is powered by two ZX12R engines and manages 0-60 in a mere 2.9 seconds. That’s as fast or [...]
