Its just not worth it. Don't ignore all of the testimonials on the net. People like to learn the hard way though..... The Chinese make crap. Plain and simple. Horrible crap at that. I've been riding for years and bought a Chinese dirt bike for my nephew so he can join us on one of our trips. Big waste of money. Ended up junking it and buying him a used Yamaha. Only 4 hours after riding the engine started leaking oil and bolts came loose. I mean, WTF??? A used Yamaha/Honda/Kawasaki blows ANY of the new Chinese bikes away. No headaches....no parts falling off while you ride....no rust after 30 days out of the crate.

I have a 2004 UM Dual Sportmoto 200 (Chinese/Zongshen). It has been well kept & no hard riding, but parts have been going bad for the years. Many leaks in gas tank seams (I've repaired most of that), have had to have an engine job done on it, & the petcock leaks. I went through 7 months & 3 bike shops trying to get the corrrect petcock from UM/Zongshen. I gave them All info about my bike including photos of bike & petcock. I had about 5 different ones sent to me, but never the correct one. I have the petcock covered with external tank repair, but it still leaks. Maybe some of their other bikes are better - I don't know. My other problem is that I live in a rural area and although there are many bike shop around here, no one will work on my UM/Zongshen. I have to go about 75 miles. Oh, also, the small manual that came with it, has several words misspelled, And some incorrect info regarding the bike.

Hi guys
update from last on site, i got my new battery only to find it wasnt a battery problem it was the ignition barrel but it was easy to order from the dealers all parts i needed and very fast delivery too so 100% for that its just the parts do go rusty far too quickly and cause corrosion on some parts like exhaust and side and centre stands, i am selling my dayang for £400 no surprise there really.

bent fender, bad welds, all the nuts and bolts were cheap and would strip or break anytime One was tightened or tried to take off. brake lever and clutch lever would break with the slightest impact. I think the impact wrench was invented because of all the stripped out Phillips screws. Tires wear out faster than you can replace them, wheels solid steel and bend and rust easy, shocks are a joke, leaks oil everywhere, chains break constantly, parts are hard to get, the paint peels off easy, No after market parts to speak of, leaky gas from the carb, jetting is iffy, the material on the seat rips in a year or so.

On and On this was my first and certainly not my last honda motorcycle 53 years ago,
That bike put a grin on my face every time I rode it, a Honda 160, the bike that taught me at a very early age, how to work on a motorcycle, I was a kid and I couldnt afford to take the bike into the shop every time it broke, I just learned to fix it.

At the time, the Japanese bike was considered the crap of the motorcycle world. Harley, BSA, triumph, BMW were the raining kings, but those guys left the young and not so rich in the dust and offered nothing for us. Except very abused used bikes to buy. (Watch utube and see what your slightly used honda dirt bike that has been taken real good care of is really being used today)....Enter Honda, yamaha back then, making copies of the big boys bikes later too.

Just bought a 200 cc zongshen dirt bike yesterday, for the price of a down payment on a Honda of the same size, the technology is there, a bit crude in quality control, but way better made then that crude Honda 160 I wrote about on top. Certainly not going to give a glowing report on it unless it deserves it after I ride it for awhile, but if it puts a smile on my face, thats the true test, If it breaks Ill just fix it. Been there done that....
