I tried to add another comment to yesterdays post but it just went away. No errors or anything.
Anyway, does anyone else remember the article from a few years back in Roadracing World and Motorcycle Technology about a Texas company that made a very neat frame/swingarm combo for Kawasaki EX 500’s?

You’re getting caught in my comment spam filter which is set pretty tight. I approve your posts as soon as I see them so they aren’t lost. Your comment yesterday was approved and posted. I’ll have to look a little closer to see why you get snagged.
In general, for anyone out there posting, if your comment does not show up immediately, it is because I have thinks locked down hard. Comment spam on blogs is huge these days. I can sometimes get 100 or more in an hour. My filter works pretty well but it’s not perfect. Unfortunately, the slimeballs out there just set a script or batch file in motion and in it comes. That’s the reality of blogs these days.

I’ve recently been to one of tony’s seminars in vancouver. I think 50% of the class were in over their heads! very cool and informative for a future bike designer, although it seemed this particular seminar dealt more with tweaking an existing bike than ground up design. oh well, it was booked through a race school and 80% were amatuer racers looking for setup tips. to anyone looking for info on how bikes work i recommend tony foale’s book (I know it’s expensive, but I’m a dirt poor student and i coughed up the bucks and i’m happy. well worth a month’s expendable income!) also recommended but a slightly tougher read is gaetano cocco’s book (i’ can’t remember the title as i’ve lent it out for the last 3 months!) it’s on amazon fo around $24 - buy it and the art of the motorcycle softcover and you’ve got free shipping and 2 sweet books for $50-$60 (cdn)

That book by Gaetano Cocco is “Motorcycle Design and Technology” and is the one featured over on the left.
